Your immigration medical may include:
Identity confirmation
Medical history review
Medication and past health history review
Physical examination
Vision check
Urine testing if required
Referral for blood tests if required
Referral for chest X-ray if required
Completion and submission through the eMedical system
The exact requirements depend on your visa type, age, medical history and Immigration New Zealand instructions.
Blood tests and chest X-rays
Meadowbank Medical Centre does not provide blood tests or chest X-rays on-site.
If these are required for your immigration medical, our doctor will provide the appropriate referral. Blood tests are usually completed through the laboratory, and chest X-rays are completed through an approved radiology provider.
Blood test and chest X-ray fees are separate from the clinic immigration medical fee and may be paid directly to the external provider.
Interpreters and language support
We have Mandarin, Cantonese and Tagalog-speaking staff available.
If you are not comfortable having a medical conversation in English, you may need to arrange a professional interpreter to attend your appointment at your own cost. Immigration New Zealand advises that friends, colleagues and family members are not acceptable as interpreters, although they may attend as support people.
Please let us know when booking if you may need language support.
